Easter dilemma

While shopping at Wal-Mart, it was hard to find Jesus amidst the Easter stuff.
It made me sad. Verrrry sad. And questioning whether or not to even have Easter eggs or not.

I think if you do Easter eggs, you should do the resurrection eggs...it would be SO much more meaningful.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately it's the same at Christmas......

I've noticed it a lot this year, too. The stores are all about bunnies and chicks, anything that's fluffy or pastel.

My son has been asking for a Bible concordance of his own, and that will be his primary gift this Easter.

There will be some candy, too, but we've actually started bringing out the candy already. I hadn't thought about it this way, but maybe that helps break the association of candy with Easter.

My dh and I have been talking about the association of Easter eggs and Bunny's and the resurrection of Jesus, and there is none. So we are thinking of not having the easter egg hunt. I don't want the children just to be happy for Easter because of the candy hunt.

Tell me about it....
I want to pop into the Christian book store this week and get my kids something to focus their eyes on Christ. I'm not sure I want to abandon all things chocolate and egg, but it's so hard for the world to see past all the fluff, and I don't want my kids to get overly caught up in that. Hard when you're surrounded by it.
