milk prices

Next time you go to the store and you're grousing about high millk prices, consider this:

June 29, 2008
Barrow, Alaska
Gallon of milk: $9.89

(I'll probably still be using powdered milk when we move back!!)

ick...and there's no "going over the border" to buy cheaper milk....

When I lived with my dad my senior year of H.S., I used to carry 2 gallons of milk every week in my backpack (along with my trumpet in it's hard case) on my bike on the 5 or so mile ride from school to his house in Canada...back then, a liter of milk was about $2...but the prices have evened up a bit, I think....

Might be time to feign lactose intolerance.

My hubby has a coworker that just moved here from Alaska. The states are paradise to him because of how cheap everything is in comparison.
