Taking Chance

I saw this on one of the MilSpouse blogs I read (I can't remember which one...) but I saw this link: BLACKFIVE: Taking Chance Home.

I encourage all of you to read this story. It's an amazing story...and they've made it into a movie, in which Kevin Bacon portrays Lt. Col. Michael Strobl. It will humble you. This film its based on an actual letters written by Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobl, USMC, (which you can read online here) who accompanied home the body of 19-year-old Lance Corporal Chance Phelps, USMC, who was killed in action in Iraq. Strobl, volunteers to escort the remains back to his family in a small Wyoming town.

I will probably end up subscribing to HBO for just that one month....just so I don't miss the chance to see this for myself. HBO Online will give you details, but it says it will be on the air in February. HBO does a GREAT job with mini-series....remember HBO Films: John Adams?
I pray that HBO does a good job. Honoring our fallen is important. They are gone but not forgotten.

Oh maybe they'll play this over here then! They showed the John Adams series over here, so hopefully this one too!

I really liked the John Adams one and need to look and see if I can purchase it on DVD, I love historically accurate movies and love biographies! :) I'm a nerd and proud of it!!!
