to iPhone or not to iPhone, that is the question.....

if you're an iPhone user, chime in. I am thinking about getting one.
ANYTHING to get away from the evil clutches of Verizon. (I like Verizon almost as much as I like Obama....)
And I have a line on a killer macho deal.....now I just have to sway my sweet darling wonderful husband to let me cut the Verizon cord (which means paying to get out of the contract....even with that, it's still cheaper on a monthly basis...)
I do so want me an iPhone......
I have been researching this and a few other things, you know :)

I'll warn ya...the only thing about the iPhone is the ridiculous data plan charges! I have heard it can be around $60 a month.

What I did was get an iPod touch...exactly like an iPhone but no Phone.

Data plan is only $30 per month. That's less than my Crackberry :)

My WHOLE bill will only be $80.00, My BB is twice that much. Verizon likes to add things without me asking for them and I am FED UP to here....

I have an iPhone 3G and I love it. Its so convenient and useful to have all those functions at my fingertips when I am out and about. I recommend it to everyone I know. :-) Good luck with your decision making. You know that since Apple released the upgraded iPhone 3G S - you can get a killer deal on the 3G's.

I've got to say, I thought about an iphone for about 4.7 seconds. I ended up with T-Mobile's G1, and I LOVE it! 90% of my coworkers have the iphone and while they love the phone, the customer service has left a lot to be desired. On the contrary, T-Mobile goes over the top on customer service. At our last corporate conference, we had an iphone guru go through all the neato things the iphone can do, and my G1 can do everything with one exception. My calculator isn't a scientific calculator.

As for the cost - I have 3 phones on my plan (2 teenaged boys) and they all have unlimited texting, mobile-to-mobile, nights and weekends, and we share 2000 anytime minutes - of which we've never used more than 1050 or so because most minutes are included. With all that, plus my unlimited data plan for the G1, my bill is $160/month.

There you go, my 2 cents :)

I adore my iPhone - it holds my calendar, my to-do list, music for morning run, email, etc. All in one - my only qualm with it is that it smudges.

It was the tool I needed and didn't even know it, my Mother convinced me to get one after her blackberry rescued her poor multitasker brain. My iPhone did the same for me, I love having everything automatically sync from my computer. Especially my lists-in-lists huge overall budget and tabbed to-do list

Plus, the camera quality is far superior to most camera phones, which is nice because I don't always want to lug my SLR, plus lenses, etc. and I don't have a "point and shoot" digital.

Also, I have this nifty little device ($2 -- on clearance with 10% off) that plugs into the bottom of the iPhone and transmits to the radio in the car, or at home, too. Which means I can always choose kid-friendly music, or a good mix of kid-and-grownup music. Without having to suffer through radio viagra commercials, or hours and hours and hours of songs about colors and numbers with no interruption.
